Hi Lisa, Yes, I did a 1/2" seam. You can do whatever width you like. You could layer your three layers on the floor and put a bunch of safety pins in about every foot or so. Then maybe move it to your table and just make big embroidery floss stitches like I did, or just put in a tie about every 6 inches, which you could do on the floor or on your table. You could try put in a lap frame, but it might be too bulky for that. Just lay it on your table, where it doesn't matter if your needle hits the top of the table; meaning it won't damage or doesn't matter if it does. I hope this helps Lisa.

Hi Martha - I have a couple of questions. Are the seams 1/2"? How did you secure the three layers together since it is so thick? I don't have a big quilting frame (or room for one). Can the quilting be done on a smaller frame, even a lap frame?

Thanks for your time and help! I have been enjoying your tutorial.

Well, I would need to see what she wants and how much she wants to be involved. I would say the cost for a king size quilt on the lower end would run about 450. I will email you and we can discuss this further in detail.

Hi....Help!!! I have a t-shirt quilt top that a friend pieced together for me, but needs some kind of backing....It is huge; probably as big, if not bigger than a king-sized bed. Can you help me?

Thank you,
Sue

I am interested in having a king size quilt made for my wife. I can give it as a for Christmas and then have her get with you to work it out if you do this kind of thing. Can you give me details on what she would need to do and how much you think it would run?

Thanks so Much,

Bob Franklin

Looking for a custom "Nursing" quilt for a retirement gift, is this something you can do or have done in the past that may have pictures.

Hi Meryle, You just made my day with this comment! I'm so excited to hear you are enjoying quilting and that I can be of such help through my online classes. I would love to see pictures of the quilts you have made so far. If you don't mind, I would like to post your testimonial to my website to encourage others to get started on this wonderful craft. I myself do more buttonhole stitch applique, but i have a fellow quilter who is very good at needle turn applique. I will try to get together with her sometime soon and see if i can video her. I will then let you know when I have that ready. I will let you know when I post it to the site. I'm looking forward to seeing where your style has led you in quilting. Yo can email me some pictures or post them to my Learn How To Make Quilts facebook page.

Hi Martha, I live in New Zealand and purchased your online quilting program a few months ago. I had just started quilting and did not know a thing about it. I have always been a sewer, needle pointer, scrapbooker and I paint as well but quilting was new. After looking at books and talking to others I was nearly put off the whole idea until I came across your class. I found your approach and instructions amazing and particularly liked your "don't worry if it is not perfect approach very refreshing". I have since made five small quilts including two from your class and I am now starting on needle turn applique. Do you do classes for this? I would like to thank you most sincerely for your help in letting me know that it is ok to follow your heart when quilting. Kind regards Meryle
