Hand Quilting Your Unfinished Quilt:

Do you have an incomplete quilt, a bunch of blocks, or just a quilt top which your grandmother or mother or some family member made and you want it assembled and made into a complete quilt? Please email me and tell me what you have, in as much detail as possible, and I can tell you what I can do and give you details of where to mail it and the cost. My mom and I have done quite a few of these. One elderly lady, for example, brought over a quilt top her mother had made probably in 1930's or 40's. All the many small blocks were hand stitched together, and were threatening to come apart. Well, we made her a complete quilt for her to display in her home.

The sample quilt at right the lady brought me just the blocks which her mother had embroidered. She choose a fabric color and I sewed the blocks together with a strip in between. I put a solid blue fabric for the backing and then hand quilted it. She now has a finished lap quilt to enjoy her mother's hand-work.

A dear friend brought this quilt top to me. It had no border; it had holes in it and also small sections were burnt. I patched it and trimmed it to this size. Then added borders and on two of them I sewed on the extra flower blocks. So, I made her a lovely quilt of the top her husband's mom had started to make, but never finished.
